“British Caribbean Veterans: Serving Queen and Country”

This new book recognises and celebrates the contribution made by British Caribbean men and women to the Armed Forces and therefore to the Queen and to the country.  It focuses especially on the stories of over 30 men and women who served in the United Kingdom after the 1960s. They are representative of several thousands more people like them who continued proudly, to join up and enter the Army, Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force.  More of these British Caribbeans are currently in the Armed Forces giving their service to the King and the country.

Available from November, 2023

Second Book…..

“Windrush Women of Courage”

This book focuses on the experiences of the recently labelled ‘Windrush’ peoples.  It tells the stories of four octogenarian and nonagenarian women whose amazing life journeys reflect the lives of hundreds and thousands of other migrants who left the islands of the Caribbeans to support the UK’s recovery after WW2.

We hear about their travel, work, family and ambitions, as well as the challenges they faced in trying to settle in their new country.  We are given a window into their everyday decisions enabling them to build family foundations and embrace their new homeland as Black British, whilst still proudly Caribbean.

Rose's second book about powerful Caribbean women

Breaking Through Racist Clouds is an anthology of 37 Stories compiled in response to black people's continual struggle for equality, acknowledgement and recognition of their humanity. It focuses on the stories of a small group of people of Caribbean heritage.
